Second Wash.

Hey All, Happy New Year!

So I've now done my second and third wash 'no poo'. My second wash went better than the first but not by much. I just poured about a tablespoon of baking soda into my hand while I was in the shower, wet it and mushed it into a paste and applied it to my already wet hair and left it on for a minute before rinsing and one tablespoon of vinegar to a cup of water for conditioner. I left my hair to air dry and the result was FRIZZY! frizzy, staticy hair with hardly any natural curl. It was an improvement on the greasy hair but was still not presentable for the opposite reason.

By the next day it looked substantially better though, but still not as good as freshly pooed hair. The day after that it started to look a bit greasy again so I decided to wash it again the next morning.

For my third 'no poo' wash I reduced the amount of baking soda and increased the amount of vinegar to water ratio then, while my hair was still damp, worked a small amount of coconut oil through the ends and mid lengths, avoiding the scalp area before running a brush through it and allowing to air dry.

The result was slightly better than the last wash but still frizzy and limp, and again I had to wait for the second day for it to look semi-good. I think my next wash I will try reducing the amount of baking soda again and trying out different conditioning methods, time to hit google! haha

Fingers crossed the new year will bring me a system that works for myself soon, I dont know how much longer I can deal with crappy hair!
